I spoke to some black students from the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University about their experiences living and studying in the city.
Though recently celebrated as being home to two of the most international universities ( http://www.weareinternational.org.uk/) in the country, Sheffield can’t compare to the renowned melting pots of London, Birmingham, and Manchester.
These eight students come from similar backgrounds but have varying views on Sheffield. Despite the hills and lack of hair shops, some are fond and optimistic about the city and it’s people – while others are significantly more cynical given their experiences.
