My time as the ACS Sheffield President was really a time to remember. I had the privilege of working with a group of committee members that became family. We were all friends and campaigned for our various posts together so it was quite exciting when we were assigned those various positions. It was also very challenging as we all had different opinions and views on a lot of different things but we made it work. All in all, it was a very fun and educating experience. I definitely learnt how to work better in groups and I’m glad to have carried such a great society on this journey.
The committee tried to promote diversity and versatility within the society and incorporate those values into the various events that were planned for the academic year. We also tried to improve the interaction between members by planning gatherings where everyone could unwind and feel at home with their fellow members.
